There is a moment in the life of each soldier...
The moment when they receive the call that they must leave their homes, families, friends, and life, behind to defend a greater good. At this moment, they are ready, willing, and able to defend the ideals of a nation…a nation that puts our trust in them to keep us safe and to make us proud. This moment is called, the call of duty. The call of duty is one of the hardest, and yet most rewarding, commitments in the life of any serviceman or woman. Their mission is clear, and they commit themselves 100%.
The Duty of the Armed Forces Foundation is also clear. The Foundation is committed 100% to serving the needs of our men and women in uniform and assisting them in their time of greatest need. It is our honor, our duty and our privilege to aide those men and women, in their selfless sacrifice of service to our country.
- The Priorities of the Armed Forces Foundation -
While the Armed Forces Foundation is honored to support servicemen and women from all branches of the United States Armed Forces, we also understand the needs these families face. It is with this understanding that the Armed Forces Foundation derives its purpose.
The first priority of the Armed Forces Foundation is direct financial support of our servicemen and women and their families. This comes in the form of paying for hospital bills, medical supplies, car and rent payments, utilities, airline tickets, and much more, for thousands of injured soldiers and their families. The foundation continues to contribute 96.4% of all outside donations directly to military families through foundation programming.
Second, the Armed Forces Foundation committed itself years ago to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda Maryland. This commitment was to pay for all of the rooms at the Navy Lodge providing families visiting a loved one who was recuperating in the hospital with a place to stay, and with no worry on paying for the room. Years later, the Foundation is still commitment 100% to paying these rooms each month for families of these injured troops.
Next, the Foundation has established the Armed Forces Foundation | Housing Assistance Program, which makes necessary modifications to homes of injured servicemen and women learning to live with the injured they endured in combat.
The Foundation also continues to offer death benefit programs for surviving family members of servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice to their country.
The Armed Forces Foundation organizes MWR events each year to brighten the day of military dependants and wounded servicemen. This year, the Foundation has begun a series of hunting trips around the country, allowing injured troops a chance to get out and have some fun. Next, the foundation continues to build on its relationship with teen idol Hilary Duff, who continues to by extremely generous in her support of our military children as well as the Foundation.

The Armed Forces Foundation was established in 2001 to promote the morale, welfare, and the quality of life of the Unites States Armed Forces community, including active duty personnel, national guardsmen, reservists, and retired personnel and their families.
The Armed Forces Foundation, a Washington, DC based nonprofit organization is committed to serving the members of our Armed Services and assisting them in their time of greatest need. The foundation has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars to pay for hotel bills and to offset the expenses of families visiting a loved one in the hospital. Programs offered through the foundation include the Housing Assistance Program for troops returning to their communities after injury, Family Bereavement Assistance for surviving family members; direct financial assistance, as well as the Classic Outdoors Sports Program which includes hunting and fishing programs for troops and their families. The staff of the foundation regularly visits with wounded troops at the Bethesda National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed Army Medical Center to provide support, give gifts, and show them our appreciation for their service and sacrifice.
In June of 2006, the Armed Forces Foundation hosted the second annual Armed Forces Foundation Congressional Gala. This year, the foundation raised over $750,000 in funding to directly support our military servicemen and their families.
Also this past year, the Armed Forces Foundation was recognized by President George W. Bush for outstanding commitment to the military servicemen and women and their families.
2005 was a great year for the Foundation, contributing 93% of all outside donations directly to military families through foundation programs. We have raised millions of dollars in financial contributions, directly supporting our troops. We have provided tens of thousands of dollars to the Navy Lodge at the Bethesda Naval Hospital to offset the expenses of families visiting a loved one in the hospital. The foundation has contributed over $100,000 to supply direct financial assistance to military families’ across the nation.
The Armed Forces Foundation is proud to introduce a new Initiative appropriately titled the, Armed Forces Foundation Housing | Assistance Program. This new campaign was setup to provide injured military service men/women and their families the ability to apply for renovations that will allow them to cope and live comfortably with their injuries.
