I was speaking to a friend of mine the other day in reference to the truth about lying. It is so true that we are all born with the unconditional ability to love everyone. Until you stick us, yell at us, deny us from food or make us lounge in a dirty diaper too long, we all love unconditionally. Then at some point it happens. Perhaps Santa can be blamed for the Adam and Eve moment that changes it all but we begin to tell stories that in all likelihood are not true.

So I was thinking what it might be like if we could not lie...There would be no

Santa
Easter Bunny
Fairy God Mother
Charlie Brown
Snow White
Cinderella
Magazine Covers (no photo shop)
Celebrities (because no one is perfect)
Pageant Queens
BAD FOOD
Annoying in laws (because they just would talk to you:)
Happy Marriages (because my husband better always tell me I am the most beautiful women in the room:)

And much more.....

It seems we raise our children on the 70/30/10 rule. 70% of what we say is true. 30% is the hope of what we say is true but may not be and 10% is based on the fantasy that Santa Clause comes every year, Prince Charming/Cinderella does exist and if you keep buying the lottery ticket you just may win because someone must, right?

I am throwing my name in for the Nobel Peace Prize. Here is to the 10% rule.
