Hello-
I am back from orientation and it was amazing. I was reminded just how special the International system is. It started out with a presentation by Go Red for Women. I cannot express how emotionally touching the presentation was as it reminded me of how important education and awareness is for heart disease. I miss my parents and tonight I could not help but think what we could have done. I cannot stress enough how important knowing your numbers are and education is key. I think the partnership with Go Red and the International program is one that will make great strides in getting the message out there.
Following the Go Red presentation we were introduced to the PR firm. The winner gets a 10 sec spot in TIMES SQUARE!!!! This is amazing. We also were educated as to the events of the week, our contestants numbers/groupings, makeup, photos....all I can say is WOW you can really feel the difference. I am so proud to be an International lady!!!! Also, what a prize package! The winner gets $2500, 1st $1500, 2nd $1000, $500, $250 and the prelim winners get $500 each. Also the Competitive Image gives a $10K wardrobe allowance to the winner!
Everyone looked amazing and I know people sometimes just say that but really...there was not ONE PERSON who looked worse than their photo. Everyone was BEAUTIFUL and I really mean BEAUTIFUL!!!! I cannot even imagine the outcome. What a polished, classy and humbling group of ladies! I really am SOOOOO honored to even be here.
The staff was on top of everything also. Rebekah looked beautiful in red as did Mary Richardson! I am happy they aren't competing this year!
Please also keep Mrs Washington in your prayers and her husband as he just deployed.
Tomorrow is a VERY busy day!!!! I am excited!
