Mrs Maryland America 2014

 I have done pageants for a while and I always find them to be a point of self discovery. Sometimes, not always good but I learn a lot each time and mostly about myself. I competed in Mrs Maryland America 2014 last weekend and I had a great time. I went back and forth on whether or not I should but at the end of the day I just decided to make a girls weekend out of it so I did. On Friday, Cara Cole, another military spouse, and I hit the road and checked into the hotel. Jessica, another contestant also shared our room and it reminded me a bit of a college day slumber party. We all three have children so it was Mom's night out!

Orientation was fun and we gave out our contestants gifts. I loved all of mine and a common theme was the gift of wine and some homemade(thank you Alyssa!). We stayed up after orientation, rehearsal and dinner until 1am in the morning just talking! We may have cracked into some wine too. It was so much fun. The next day was rehearsal, interview and finals. All of the ladies rocked it and when top 5 was called, I was honored to be among them!

I placed second runner up, photogenic winner and interview winner. I was so happy and still am! Congrats to Zereana Jess Huff, your new Mrs Maryland America 2014. She is an Ovarian Cancer Survivor, a beautiful lady and will rock it at Mrs America.

I have to say the ladies were ALL just amazing. Thank you for the smiles!
