So today I was watching the news and I have an issue....
Everyone, including President Obama states that we are coming home from Iraq. It makes a great speech and he does it well but there is one point that seems to be out of the spot light.
My sister is deploying to Afghanistan for 15 months, Carters Doctor deployed and his nurses have deployed and are deploying.
I realize in the economic state it is easy to forget and the media is not covering it as it was.
We continue to deploy daily. There are over 20K in Afghanistan.

AMEN SISTER!! The "pull out" talk is all smoke and mirrors.... They are not mentioning that most of the troops they pull out of Iraq will be marching across Iran to Afghanistan. My best friend's little brother is looking at his 3rd trip.
I'm surprised at the attitude of American's right now. Unless they have someone in the military, it's pretty much "outa-sight-outa-mind." They weill believe whatever they see on the t.v. so the media and politicians can spin it any way they want to.
We've all need to pray for the attitude of our fellow countrymen and of course, keep lifting those troops up in prayer.

As a fellow Army wife I could not agree with you more. My husband is set to deploy to Afghanistan this year as an MP Reservist. The nation tends to forget we still have a lot of our military deploying, fighting and dying for our country. There is much more going on than our economy.
By the way, I have been following your story with Carter. He is such a sweet little boy, just makes one want to kiss all over his face. You are doing an amazing job as a mom. Nothing hurts more than seeing your kids struggle, but you are an amazing woman with one tough cookie as your son.
My brother just deployed last week for his 4th tour in 4 years... they aren't going anywhere.
