This is just a quick update as I have to get ready for tonight. Rehearsal went well. Matt Davenport productions has done a fabulous job and is a huge reason why I am here! (I saw them in Knoxville the year Marianne Oden won and was awestruck with the calibur of production) Everyone looks great and is excited. Although I think we all have "our" winner pick, I am leaving everything in the hands of God & faith. We all achieved a goal getting here and I just want to say that I have NEVER met a more amazing group of ladies. I have competed before in my "Miss" days and this pageant truly exemplifies what a true lady is. I am so happy to have been apart of this event and I wish each contestant all the luck in the world. TRULY, every queen here would represent the system well. What a beautiful group...inside and out!
Some of the WONDERFFUL Mrs. International Staff!
Maine's hubby surprised her with a gift from Tiffany's!

Having fun at rehearsal!
Illinois won fitness and evening gown. Texas, photogenic and fitness and Georgia, fitness. There was a three way tie. All of the ladies are beautiful and would wear the title well. I have no doubt that we will have a beautiful queen this year.
Here are our judges: Donna Beering (former Mrs Illinois), Betty Dunn (President of Pageantry Magazine...beautiful lady), Charles Dunn (Publisher of Pageantry Magazine....pageant ICON :), Catherine Lanigan (best selling author of Romancing the Stone & Jewel of the Nile) and Stacey Taylor (former Mrs Utah). They all are very impressive! The calibur of judges is impressive and as I said before, I am humbled in their presence.
I will try and update tonight with the winners. Good luck to all!
Off to rehearsal!

Sorry for the delay! Tonight were prelims and the winners were Suzy Bootz, Georgia and Illinois. All three worthy of the crown although I think Texas will be a great international winner. I have attached some pics...

Just a quick update! I just got back from interview. What an impressive group of judges! I did my best and was myself. They really made it comfortable and I hope I made a good impression. It is in God's hands. Everyone in my group looked beautiful. I will write more about the judges tonight after rehearsal. All I can reemphasize is WOW! IMPRESSIVE! I was humbled in their presence.

Hello-
I can't believe how fast this week is going. Today was another event packed day. We started out by visiting St. Vincent De Paul's. It was a very moving experience. We were greeted by a lot of hugs. So often times we think of giving to organizations such as St. Vincents, when really they give so much more to us. I was able to read to some of the children and was amazed at how special these young children are. We all split up into different rooms with different aged children. My sister queens were Illinois and Tenn. Tennessee sprinked some fairy dust and truly made a special impression. Illinois also was able to captivate. I think everyone was touched by this experience. What a blessing each one of these children are. THANK YOU LESTER FOR ALL THE SAFE RIDES! (Our bus driver)
Tonight Andy and I took in Cirque Shangai after rehearsal. He has been so wonderful through it all and tonight was our free night.

I am off to bed in preparation of tomorrow's interview!!!!! Wish me luck!
God bless-

Hello!
Tonight was the cocktail event. A great time was had by all! All of the ladies looked beautiful. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Daily Grill that included some incredible deserts! A huge thank you to Mary (who looks like Susan Lucci...how beautiful) and the entire Mrs. International staff. All I can say is this is really a week that none of us will ever forget. Although only one goes home with the crown, we all are being given the royal treatment. Lacey Mervine is on the staff this year and I have to say she is a beautiful woman. I am glad she is not competing this year. She is a queen by any definition!
Tomorrow we are visiting St. Vincents. I am excited to meet the children and hopefully share some smiles with them.
Off to find my hubby...I think he went to a movie. He is amazing! What a supportive husband!
God bless and enjoy the pictures!
Deanna

Hello!
Wow, what an amazing two days! The orientation last night was wonderful. What a class act this pageant is and what amazing and beautiful women. Today we went to Gurnee Mills and signed autographs. The shopping was also wonderful. Although I have not had the opportunity to get to know everyone yet, Tennessee, Alabama, Rhode Island, West Virginia, Oregon are wonderful women and beautiful! (There isn't a contestant that isn't!) I am so moved by their personal convictions to their platforms. My husband and I also had breakfast with California and her husband. What great people. The state of California is proud and very lucky, no doubt!
I can't wait to get to know all these wonderful ladies and their spouses! I am so proud to be amoung this years contestants.
I have attached a few pictures! Note...my wonderful Andy and I. My hero....:)

Good morning-
Well pageant week has begun! Andy and I kicked it off yesterday with a Cubs game. Thank you Dave Stetler and Gatorade. The seats were amazing as we were practically sitting on the field. We had the chance to get some pictures with a few players and fans.
Andy, Scott Williamson (Cubs Pitcher) and myself.
Thank you James Betustak, Mayor of Lindenhurst, for helping us out with the pictures.
The day started out wonderfully as I had my hubby with me. He has been amazing and very patient with all of the loading and unloading of the car!
Today is orientation. I am looking forward to meeting all of the lovely ladies tonight.
I can't believe it is finally here!!!!!
